Biography & Early Wealth Journey
McMahon spent more than two decades working her way through WWE's corporate ranks, ultimately serving as Chief Brand Officer, Chairwoman, and Co-Chief Executive Officer. At the same time, she became one of the company's best-known on-screen characters, winning the WWF Women's Championship, serving as SmackDown General Manager and Raw Commissioner, and joining Triple H as the villainous power couple known as The Authority. After resigning from WWE's executive leadership in January 2023, McMahon moved into a more selective role as a media personality and brand ambassador. She launched the ESPN series "Stephanie's Places" and the interview podcast "What's Your Story?" and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2026.
WWE and TKO Equity
Stephanie's equity ownership has been the most important source of her wealth. WWE's March 2023 securities filing showed that she beneficially owned 1,940,190 WWE shares. That total consisted of 90,797 Class A shares she held directly and 1,849,393 Class B shares held through a trust of which she was a beneficiary and had dispositive control.
WWE's corporate structure changed dramatically later that year. Endeavor combined WWE with UFC to create the publicly traded TKO Group Holdings. The transaction valued WWE at $9.3 billion and UFC at $12.1 billion. Existing WWE shareholders did not simply receive $106 in cash for each share. Instead, each WWE share was converted into one TKO Class A share when the transaction closed in September 2023.
Primary Income Streams & Multi-Million Contracts
That means Stephanie's last publicly disclosed WWE position would have become roughly 1.94 million TKO shares. At a TKO share price of $190, that position would be worth about $369 million. Because Stephanie ceased being a WWE executive and her TKO position represents a much smaller percentage of the combined company, subsequent changes to her holdings have not been subject to the same level of public disclosure.
Salary and Executive Compensation
McMahon no longer holds a full-time WWE executive position, so she does not have a publicly disclosed current WWE executive salary. During her final full year with the company, however, she was one of WWE's highest-paid executives.
In 2022, McMahon received total compensation of $14.28 million. That included $1.01 million in salary, $12.36 million in stock awards, and $915,173 in other compensation. After she was elevated to Co-CEO, her annualized executive base salary was set at $1.35 million.

Stephanie also had a separate WWE performer agreement. Her final disclosed booking contract guaranteed her at least $750,000 per year, with WWE able to credit payments from television appearances, live performances, and merchandise royalties against that guarantee.
Early Life
Stephanie McMahon was born on September 24, 1976, in Hartford, Connecticut. She is the daughter of Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon and the younger sister of Shane McMahon. The McMahon family controlled the company that evolved from the World Wrestling Federation into World Wrestling Entertainment, making Stephanie a fourth-generation member of one of professional wrestling's most important families.
McMahon became involved with the family business while still young, modeling WWF merchandise in company catalogs as a teenager. She later attended Boston University, graduating in 1998 with a degree in communications.
Wealth Trajectory & Future Earnings Projections
After college, Stephanie joined the WWF full-time. She initially worked in the company's New York sales office before moving through creative, television, talent, operations, and branding positions while simultaneously developing an on-screen character.
Professional Wrestling Career
McMahon made her major television debut in 1999 as the innocent daughter of Vince McMahon during a storyline involving The Undertaker and his Ministry of Darkness. The Undertaker kidnapped Stephanie as part of the storyline and attempted to marry her in a dark in-ring ceremony before she was rescued by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
Her character soon became involved in a romance with wrestler Test. That storyline culminated in one of the WWF's most famous twists when Triple H revealed that he had secretly married Stephanie in Las Vegas after drugging her. Stephanie subsequently turned against her father and aligned herself with Triple H, beginning the on-screen McMahon-Helmsley Era.
In 2000, Stephanie defeated Jacqueline to win the WWF Women's Championship. She held the title for five months before losing it to Lita. The following year, she joined her brother Shane as part of the storyline faction known as The Alliance, representing WCW and ECW in their invasion of the WWF.
Stephanie returned in 2002 as the general manager of "SmackDown," a role that placed her opposite Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff. Her tenure included storylines involving wrestlers including Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, and her father Vince. She left regular television after losing an "I Quit" match to Vince at No Mercy in 2003.

McMahon made sporadic appearances over the following several years before returning to a major television role in 2013. She and Triple H became the leaders of The Authority, a villainous corporate faction that attempted to control WWE and its performers. The storyline made the couple central figures on WWE television for several years and placed them in major programs involving Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and other leading stars.
In 2016, Vince appointed Stephanie commissioner of the Raw brand. One of her final major in-ring storylines developed after former UFC champion Ronda Rousey joined WWE. At WrestleMania 34 in 2018, Stephanie and Triple H faced Rousey and Kurt Angle in a mixed tag-team match. Rousey forced McMahon to submit.

Business Career
While millions of wrestling fans knew Stephanie primarily as a television character, she spent most of her adult life working behind the scenes at WWE. Her responsibilities expanded steadily from sales and creative work into some of the company's most senior executive positions.
McMahon became Director of Creative Television in the early 2000s and later Senior Vice President of Creative Writing. By 2007, she had been promoted to Executive Vice President, overseeing creative development and operations. Her responsibilities included WWE's television storylines, digital content, talent-related initiatives, and other parts of the company's entertainment operation.
In 2013, McMahon became Chief Brand Officer. The position shifted her focus toward WWE's global brand, corporate partnerships, community initiatives, advertiser relationships, and public positioning. She became one of the company's most visible business representatives and frequently appeared at industry conferences and corporate events.
Chairwoman and Co-CEO
In May 2022, McMahon announced that she was taking a leave of absence from most of her WWE responsibilities to focus on her family. The leave turned out to be brief.
The following month, Vince McMahon stepped back from his executive duties while WWE's independent directors investigated allegations involving his conduct and company payments. Stephanie was appointed interim CEO and interim Chairwoman.
When Vince announced his retirement from WWE in July 2022, Stephanie became Chairwoman and Co-Chief Executive Officer alongside Nick Khan. Triple H simultaneously assumed greater responsibility for WWE's creative operation.
Stephanie's tenure at the top lasted less than seven months. Vince returned to the company's board as Executive Chairman in January 2023 as WWE prepared to pursue strategic alternatives. On January 10, Stephanie resigned as Co-CEO and left the board. Nick Khan became WWE's sole CEO.
Three months later, WWE announced the agreement with Endeavor that eventually combined WWE and UFC under TKO Group Holdings.
Media Career and WWE Hall of Fame
After leaving WWE's executive suite, McMahon maintained ties to the company without returning to a full-time corporate position. She appeared at major events and gradually developed a new role centered on interviews, storytelling, and WWE history.
In 2025, she began hosting "Stephanie's Places," an ESPN series produced by Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions in partnership with ESPN and WWE. The show follows McMahon as she visits locations connected to prominent wrestling personalities and explores the experiences that shaped their careers.
That same year, WWE and Fanatics launched "What's Your Story? with Steph McMahon." The podcast features long-form conversations with figures from wrestling, sports, entertainment, and business.
In 2026, McMahon was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Her mother Linda and daughters Aurora, Murphy, and Vaughn participated in her induction, recognizing a career that had encompassed wrestling performance, television storytelling, corporate leadership, branding, and media.
Philanthropy
McMahon and Triple H created Connor's Cure in 2014 in honor of eight-year-old WWE fan Connor Michalek, who died after battling medulloblastoma. The fund was originally established through Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh to support pediatric brain and spinal cancer research before expanding nationally through a partnership with the V Foundation.
Connor's Cure has raised millions of dollars and supported hundreds of families while funding pediatric cancer research. McMahon also spent years serving as one of WWE's most visible representatives for charitable programs and community partnerships.
Personal Life
Stephanie is married to Paul "Triple H" Levesque. Their real-life relationship developed after they were paired together in a WWE storyline, and they began dating in 2000. They became engaged in 2003 and married on October 25 of that year.
The couple has three daughters: Aurora Rose Levesque, Murphy Claire Levesque, and Vaughn Evelyn Levesque. Stephanie has continued using McMahon professionally while also using the Levesque surname.
Together, Stephanie and Triple H represent one of the most influential couples in modern professional wrestling. Although Stephanie stepped away from day-to-day WWE management, Triple H continued leading the company's creative operation as Chief Content Officer, while Stephanie remained connected to WWE through media projects, major appearances, philanthropy, and her family's ownership history.
