Biography & Early Wealth Journey

Phaedra Parks became nationally famous as a cast member of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," joining the series in its third season and becoming one of the show's most memorable personalities. Outside reality television, Parks has maintained a long legal career as the founder and managing partner of the Atlanta-based Parks Group, representing clients in entertainment, civil litigation, criminal defense, and contract negotiations. Her unusual résumé also includes work as a licensed funeral director, author, activist, and motivational speaker. After leaving "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" following Season 9, Parks eventually rebuilt her reality-TV career through appearances on "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip," "Married to Medicine," Peacock's "The Traitors," and "Dancing with the Stars." She subsequently returned to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" during Season 16. In September 2026, Parks confirmed that the chemistry viewers had noticed between her and "Traitors" costar Chris "C.T." Tamburello had developed into a real-life romantic relationship.

Early Life and Education

Phaedra Parks was born on October 26, 1973, in Athens, Georgia. She attended Wesleyan College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors, and later earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Parks also studied mortuary science at Jefferson State Community College and became a licensed funeral director. That unusual combination of law, entertainment, and funeral-service training would later become part of her public persona on reality television.

Legal Career

After law school, Parks worked at Bridges, Ordmand & Faenza, an insurance-defense law firm. She subsequently established her own practice and built a client base that included entertainers, athletes, and other public figures.

Real Estate, Luxury Assets & Personal Investments

One of Parks' early high-profile clients was rapper Drama, whom she represented while he was serving a jail sentence. Parks successfully persuaded a judge to allow him to leave custody temporarily to fulfill touring commitments, accompanying him to help ensure that he returned to complete his sentence. The unusual case helped raise her profile within the entertainment industry.

Over the years, Parks has been associated professionally with entertainers including Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, and Ludacris. Through the Parks Group, her practice has included entertainment law, intellectual property matters, contract negotiations, civil litigation, and criminal defense. She has also appeared as a legal commentator on television programs and networks including NBC, Fox News, "Entertainment Tonight," and Court TV.

Parks has served in leadership and advisory roles within the legal community, including involvement with the Gate City Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Her combination of legal work and entertainment-industry connections ultimately provided the foundation for the television career that made her nationally famous.

Wealth Trajectory & Future Earnings Projections

Parks joined "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" in Season 3 and quickly became known for her elaborate Southern-belle persona, sharp one-liners, legal career, and willingness to involve her personal and professional life in the show. Her marriage to Apollo Nida, the births of their sons, her funeral-business ambitions, and the eventual collapse of her marriage became major storylines during her original run.

Her tenure came to an abrupt end after Season 9. During the reunion, it emerged that Parks had been the source of a false allegation relayed to Porsha Williams involving castmate Kandi Burruss and Burruss' husband, Todd Tucker. The controversy severely damaged Parks' relationships with several cast members, and she did not return for the following season.

Although the incident became one of the most notorious controversies in the history of the franchise, Parks eventually made her way back into the Bravo universe. She appeared on "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club" and later joined "Married to Medicine," opening a new chapter in her reality-TV career.

"Married to Medicine," "The Traitors" and Return to "RHOA"

Parks joined Bravo's "Married to Medicine" for Season 10, despite not being married to a physician. Her return to a regular Bravo ensemble helped reestablish her as a major reality-TV personality several years after her original "RHOA" departure.

In 2024, Parks competed on Season 2 of Peacock's "The Traitors." Selected as one of the season's Traitors, she became one of the show's breakout personalities and developed a particularly close bond with "The Challenge" veteran Chris "C.T." Tamburello. Parks jokingly referred to CT as her "Castle Daddy," and their chemistry prompted considerable speculation from both viewers and their fellow contestants. CT was ultimately among the Faithfuls who voted to banish her from the competition, and he went on to win the season with Trishelle Cannatella.

Later in 2024, Parks joined Season 33 of "Dancing with the Stars," where she was partnered with professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy. Her run added another major network reality franchise to a television résumé that had already expanded well beyond the show that originally made her famous.

Parks eventually returned to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" during Season 16, marking her first return as a regular cast member since Season 9. The comeback completed a significant television rehabilitation after years in which a full-time return to the franchise had appeared unlikely.

Other Businesses, Book and Advocacy

Parks is the author of "Secrets of the Southern Belle: How to Be Nice, Work Hard, Look Pretty, Have Fun, and Never Have an Off Moment." The lifestyle book draws on the Southern-belle image that became central to her public persona and offers advice on etiquette, appearance, confidence, relationships, and professional success.

She has also worked as a motivational speaker and has pursued business interests connected to funeral services. Her mortuary-science training and funeral-director license were prominently featured during her original run on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," when she discussed plans to establish a funeral home.

Parks has additionally been involved in community activism, including initiatives focused on Black boys and at-risk youth. Through her Save Our Sons organization and other advocacy work, she has promoted mentoring, education, and opportunities for young men and has participated in discussions surrounding civil rights and criminal justice.

Personal Life

Parks married Apollo Nida in 2009 after the couple had known each other for many years. They have two sons, Ayden and Dylan. In 2014, Nida pleaded guilty to charges related to a fraud scheme involving identity theft and bank, mail, and wire fraud and was sentenced to eight years in federal prison. Parks filed for divorce after his criminal case, and their marriage ultimately ended following a prolonged divorce process.

Years after her divorce, Parks' romantic life became a storyline in several of her reality-TV appearances. Her friendship with Chris "C.T." Tamburello attracted particular attention during "The Traitors," although both initially treated speculation about a romance as little more than fun between friends.

In September 2026, Parks confirmed on SiriusXM's "Jeff Lewis Live" that she and CT were dating. Asked directly whether their relationship was platonic, Parks said that it was not and acknowledged that the two had been going out together. She also revealed plans to accompany CT to the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles before the pair traveled together to New York.

The confirmation came more than two years after viewers first began rooting for the pair during "The Traitors." What began as the show's joking "Castle Daddy" flirtation ultimately developed into a relationship away from the cameras.

Real Estate

Parks has owned a large home in Atlanta's affluent Buckhead area, where she has lived with her sons. She purchased the roughly 10,000-square-foot residence for around $1.9 million in 2016. The mansion features six bedrooms and numerous luxury amenities and has since been valued considerably higher than its original purchase price.

The property became familiar to viewers through Parks' television appearances and is sometimes referred to by fans as "Phaedra's Palace." Its appreciation over the years represents one of the more significant identifiable assets contributing to her multimillion-dollar net worth.
