Biography & Early Wealth Journey
Kaine is best known for his work with D-Roc as one-half of Ying Yang Twins, the Atlanta rap duo behind early-2000s crunk and party-rap hits such as "Whistle While You Twurk," "Say I Yi Yi," "Salt Shaker," "Wait (The Whisper Song)," "Badd," "Shake," and "Halftime (Stand Up and Get Crunk!)." With his distinctive voice, timing, and chemistry with D-Roc, Kaine helped create some of the most recognizable club records of the crunk era. Ying Yang Twins became closely associated with producers and artists such as Mr. Collipark and Lil Jon and helped bring Atlanta's raw, dance-driven rap sound to national radio, MTV, clubs, sports arenas, and pop collaborations.
Early Life
Kaine was born Eric Jackson on December 16, 1978, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up during the rise of Southern hip-hop, when Atlanta was beginning to develop its own identity apart from New York and West Coast rap. The city's sound was shaped by bass music, club culture, local DJs, strip clubs, and neighborhood talent shows, all of which influenced the kind of high-energy music that Ying Yang Twins later made famous.
Kaine and D-Roc are not actually twins or relatives. Their name was a branding choice, but their partnership came from shared musical chemistry. Together, they created a call-and-response style that felt loose, rowdy, humorous, and built for movement.
Formation of Ying Yang Twins
Ying Yang Twins emerged in the late 1990s with help from Atlanta producer Mr. Collipark, also known as DJ Smurf. They appeared in the local Atlanta party-rap scene before breaking through nationally with "Whistle While You Twurk" in 2000. The song became one of the duo's earliest hits and helped connect them to the growing twerk and crunk movements.
Their debut album, "Thug Walkin'," was released in 2000. Two years later, they released "Alley: The Return of the Ying Yang Twins," which included "Say I Yi Yi." That record became one of their early signature songs and helped establish their reputation for catchy, chant-heavy club music.
Kaine's role in the group was not simply to fill space opposite D-Roc. His vocal tone, phrasing, and ability to help shape hooks were central to the Ying Yang Twins sound. The duo's music worked because the two voices bounced off each other naturally.

Crunk Era Success
Ying Yang Twins became national stars after appearing on Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz's 2002 single "Get Low." The song became a massive club and radio hit and is now considered one of the defining crunk records of all time. It also opened the door for Ying Yang Twins' own biggest commercial period.
Wealth Trajectory & Future Earnings Projections
In 2003, the duo released "Me & My Brother," which included "Salt Shaker," "What's Happenin!," and "Naggin'." "Salt Shaker," featuring Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, became their biggest mainstream hit and reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
That same era brought a major pop crossover when Ying Yang Twins appeared on Britney Spears' "(I Got That) Boom Boom" from the album "In the Zone." Their presence on a Britney Spears album showed how deeply Southern club rap had entered mainstream pop culture.
"Wait," "Shake," and Sports-Arena Legacy
In 2005, Ying Yang Twins released "U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta)." The album included "Wait (The Whisper Song)," "Badd," and "Shake," three records that extended the duo's run. "Wait" became one of their most memorable singles because of its whispered vocal style and stripped-down beat. It was simple, strange, instantly recognizable, and very different from the louder crunk records that had made them famous.
"Shake" and "Badd" kept them in clubs and on radio, while "Halftime (Stand Up and Get Crunk!)" took on a life of its own in sports. The song became especially associated with the New Orleans Saints and has been used as a stadium anthem for years.
Later Career
After their mid-2000s commercial peak, Ying Yang Twins continued releasing music and touring. Their later projects included "Chemically Imbalanced," "The Official Work," "Ying Yang Forever," "All Around the World," and mixtapes such as "Ass in Session" and "Twurk or Die."
While they no longer dominated the charts, Kaine and D-Roc remained active performers. Their catalog made them a natural fit for throwback tours, club events, festival lineups, and nostalgia-driven hip-hop shows. In 2025, they celebrated 25 years in the music industry and continued touring, including dates on The Millennium Tour.
