Cheryl Casone has spent nearly two decades at Fox News Media, becoming a familiar presence on Fox Business Network through her coverage of financial markets, employment, the economy, consumer issues, real estate, and corporate America. She joined Fox News Channel as a financial correspondent in 2006 and became an anchor at Fox Business when the network was still in its first year of operation.
Casone has hosted and co-hosted programs including "Cashin' In," "FBN:AM," and "American Dream Home," while also appearing across Fox News and Fox Business as an anchor and financial contributor. Her reporting has ranged from Wall Street and employment data to consumer fraud, foreign investment, corporate governance, housing, and the economic effects of war.
Before joining Fox, Casone worked for MSNBC, NBC, CBS Newspath, CNN, and San Francisco's KRON-TV. She is also the author of the 2016 book "The Comeback: How Today's Moms Reenter the Workplace Successfully," which focused on helping women resume their careers after stepping away from the workforce.
Early Life
Primary Income Streams & Multi-Million Contracts
Cheryl Cecile Casone was born on July 18, 1970, in Clearwater, Florida. Her father worked as an engineering consultant for the government, and his career resulted in the family moving frequently during Cheryl's childhood.
Casone spent time living in Sweden and Ohio before her family settled in Texas and later Arizona. She has described both Dallas and Phoenix as important hometowns and graduated from Thunderbird High School in Phoenix in 1988.
She enrolled at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, where she studied public relations and earned a bachelor's degree in 1992. The university later inducted her into the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Hall of Fame.

Real Estate, Luxury Assets & Personal Investments
Casone did not move directly from college into television journalism. After graduating, she became a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines and remained in the job for approximately five years.
The position allowed her to travel extensively. Casone has recalled visiting Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, and numerous parts of Europe during those years.
Although aviation might seem unrelated to financial journalism, Casone has credited the experience with exposing her to different cultures and teaching her how to communicate with a wide range of people. By the late 1990s, she had decided to pursue broadcasting professionally.
Early Television Career
Wealth Trajectory & Future Earnings Projections
Casone moved to San Francisco in 1997 and began taking broadcasting classes while looking for a way into television.
Her first professional television work came at CNX Media on the nationally syndicated travel program "Travel Update." She subsequently joined KRON-TV in San Francisco, where she worked as both a general-assignment and business reporter and anchored a daily business program.
The KRON job gave Casone experience covering financial stories during a particularly eventful period for Northern California. The San Francisco Bay Area was at the center of the dot-com boom and subsequent technology crash, providing her with an early education in markets, companies, and the effect financial cycles have on workers and consumers.
MSNBC, CNN, and CBS
Casone moved to New York City in 2004 and began working as an overnight and early-morning anchor for MSNBC and NBC. She also occasionally anchored "MSNBC Live."
At the same time, she broadened her reporting résumé by freelancing for other major networks. She worked as a general-assignment reporter for CBS Newspath and as a business correspondent for CNN, where much of her reporting originated from the New York Stock Exchange.
Those assignments helped establish Casone primarily as a financial and business journalist rather than a general news anchor. Her experience covering markets ultimately positioned her well for the launch of a new cable network devoted specifically to business news.

Fox News and Fox Business
Casone joined Fox News Channel in November 2006 as a financial correspondent. Less than a year later, in September 2007, she became an anchor at the newly launched Fox Business Network.
Her arrival placed her among the early on-air personalities tasked with building Fox's competitor to CNBC. Over the years, Casone covered stock-market movements, jobs reports, consumer issues, corporate governance, international investment, and economic policy.
She has reported from the New York Stock Exchange and covered major economic events including the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent recovery. Casone has also reported internationally, including assignments involving Israel, the West Bank, Jordan, and Syria.
Her interviews over the course of her career have included political leaders, corporate executives, economists, investors, and other major newsmakers.
"Cashin' In" and "FBN:AM"
Casone became a regular presence across Fox's business programming rather than being tied exclusively to one daily program.
She served as host of "Cashin' In," Fox News' weekend program examining investing, markets, politics, and personal finance. She also hosted "Fox Business Now," a short-form digital business update distributed through Fox and Yahoo.
Casone later co-hosted "FBN:AM," Fox Business' early-morning program focused on overnight developments, international markets, commodities, and the stories likely to influence U.S. trading.
She has also frequently filled in on other Fox Business programs and appeared as a financial contributor on Fox News, particularly when explaining employment statistics, inflation, consumer trends, and broader economic developments.
"American Dream Home"
Casone expanded beyond traditional financial journalism as host of "American Dream Home."
The Fox program follows buyers searching for properties around the United States, but its focus extends beyond conventional real-estate listings. Episodes typically explore the personal circumstances that led buyers to seek a new home and the financial or family milestones that made the purchase possible.
The role fit naturally with Casone's longtime reporting on real estate, personal finance, jobs, and consumer economics while allowing her to work in a more lifestyle-oriented television format.
Casone has continued working across Fox Business and Fox News while maintaining "American Dream Home" as one of her signature projects.
"The Comeback"
In 2016, Casone published "The Comeback: How Today's Moms Reenter the Workplace Successfully" through Portfolio, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
The book examines women who temporarily leave the workforce to raise children and later attempt to restart their careers. Casone interviewed mothers, executives, recruiters, and workplace experts and focused on subjects including updating job skills, overcoming résumé gaps, interviewing, networking, and negotiating the competing demands of work and family.
The project grew naturally from Casone's years of reporting on employment and the labor market. It also expanded her professional work into keynote speaking and appearances focused on jobs, women in the workplace, and career development.
Other Work and Professional Organizations
Casone has served on the boards of the California and Nevada regional chapter of the Associated Press Television and Radio Association and the San Francisco chapter of American Women in Radio and Television.
She has also become a regular moderator, keynote speaker, and event host for corporations and professional organizations, frequently discussing markets, the economy, employment, and financial news.
Her lengthy tenure at Fox Business has made her one of the network's more durable personalities. She joined within weeks of the network's 2007 launch and has remained through numerous changes in its lineup and business-news landscape.
Personal Life
Casone has kept most details of her private relationships and family life out of the public spotlight.
Outside broadcasting, she is an enthusiastic runner and endurance athlete. She has competed in the New York City Triathlon numerous times and has participated in other fitness events.
Casone has also supported charities including Building Homes for Heroes, which provides specially adapted homes to injured veterans and first responders, and the ASPCA. She is an animal lover and has frequently shared her enthusiasm for pets and animal welfare.
